Better public transit

Calgary Transit ridership is on the rise, and so is the population of our city. We need to make sure our public transit keeps up. 

Why it matters

According to the 2023 American Public Transit Association Report, Calgary ranks #1 in both Canada and the United States for annual light rail system ridership. And with our population growing and the cost-of-living continuing to rise, ridership is likely to increase. 

In 2024 Calgary Transit saw over 101 million trips, exceeding 2023 by 12%. It’s predicted that ridership will continue to rise and so will the population of our city. That means we need to get ahead and invest in public transportation right now.
