Save the Green Line

Increased costs caused by inflation have made a shortened Green Line the only viable option.

But even though Calgary City Council voted to move forward with a revised budget for the first phase of the Green Line, the provincial government withheld their share of funding until they could enforce their preferred portion of the route from 4 Street SE to Shepard in southeast Calgary.

A world class city like Calgary needs world class transit. We can’t afford to fall behind on critical public transportation.

A cancelled or partial Green Line means our public transit system can’t possibly meet the needs of our city, let alone the 100,000 more Calgarians we’re expected to welcome by 2029. The full Green Line is critical for the continued growth and prosperity of Calgary–it will make our city more accessible, create new jobs, encourage residential and commercial development, and attract new businesses and economic investment.

Help save the Green Line. Send an email right now to let your MLA, Calgary and Area MLAs, City Councillors, the Minister of Transportation, and Premier Danielle Smith know with one click how important it is to get the full Green Line built. We’ve already drafted the email, so all you have to do is enter your info and hit send.
