Sign on for better public transit

A world class city like Calgary needs world class transit. With a municipal election right around the corner, we need to make sure City Council candidates are committed to investing in an efficient, affordable, and accessible public transit system.

Calgarians use public transit a lot. According to the 2023 American Public Transit Association Report, Calgary ranks #1 in both Canada and the United States for annual light rail system ridership. And with 100,000 new Calgarians expected by 2029, ridership is likely to increase in coming years.

That’s why it’s so important for the City of Calgary to invest in building an efficient, affordable, and accessible public transit system. Whether it’s getting the Green Line built or keeping the Low Income Transit Pass program viable, we need our elected officials to commit to upholding quality public transit.

Investing in public transportation enables the continued growth and prosperity of Calgary–it will make our city more accessible, create new jobs, encourage residential and commercial development, and attract new businesses and economic investment.

Together, let’s make sure City Council candidates commit to investing in public transportation. Sign on now to tell them that Calgarians expect public transit to be a top election priority.
